Aahhh - time to learn the "drop the stitches involved in the cross and reknit them" trick. It's worth it!
I have done that if the mistake is only a couple of rows back, or it's just a two-stitch cross, but I have found that the further down you go, the more the stitches look "wonky" even if you've put them all back where they go, especially on the larger crossings.
